Directed Study

If you are interested in pursuing your own research, you can register for directed study (PHIL 3993 or PHIL 4993). In order to conduct independent research on a specific topic as part of directed study, you must find a faculty member willing to act as your faculty mentor.

Philosophy majors will sign on for a directed study credit (PHIL 4995) in order to fulfill the program's senior project requirement. Usually this project takes the form of a paper written under the direction of a faculty mentor.
