Degrees
The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences offers multiple graduate degrees:
- Doctorate in audiology (AuD)
- PhD in speech-language-hearing sciences
- MA in speech-language pathology
- MA/PhD program
- Joint AuD/PhD program
All AuD and MA students are required to complete coursework to learn how to provide speech and hearing services to diverse client populations. Those wishing to gain further expertise in supporting particular groups of clients can complete the Diversity in Communication Specialty Program.
We also offer a speech-language-hearing sciences graduate minor to students enrolled in other University graduate programs.
Accreditation Statement
The Master of Arts (M.A.) education program in speech-language pathology {residential} and the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) education program in audiology {residential} at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.
