MS in Applied Data Science & Statistics

The Applied Data Science and Statistics MS degree program is designed for students pursuing careers as applied statisticians or data scientists or for graduate students at the University of Minnesota majoring in other fields who want a second Master’s degree.  

This degree program requires less mathematical or statistical preparation than our Statistics MS degree.  It is also coursework only, while the Statistics MS requires a Plan B research project.

The Applied Data Science and Statistics MS degree program includes strong training in applications of data science and statistics. Students will also receive training in theoretical and computational statistics.
