Career Exploration
The discipline, creativity, and collaboration skills of a dance major, combined with the critical thinking skills developed in a strong liberal arts-based degree program, offer students opportunities to explore career options within, connected to, or outside of the arts.
Common career paths for dance program graduates include:
- Performance
- Choreography
- Dance education
- Dance movement therapy
- Arts administration
- Health and wellness
Alumni are performing in dance companies locally, nationally, and internationally, as well as touring or pursuing commercial careers in dance. Graduates are also choreographers of established companies and recipients of national granting and awards. Many alumni teach in settings from private studios through higher education. Students also use their education and skills in graduate/professional programs and career paths outside the arts.
