Employer Connections
At the College of Liberal Arts, you’re located in the heart of the Twin Cities - a thriving metropolitan area offering opportunities to connect with employers large and small, representing a wide range of industries. As a student in CLA, there are many ways to learn about opportunities and engage directly with employers.
Handshake is the University of Minnesota’s free search database for jobs, internships, and volunteer positions. You’ll find thousands of opportunities here—local, national, and international—along with information on career events, on-campus interviews, and more.
CLA students can connect with many employers by attending a career fair. Whether you are exploring a variety of career paths or eager to connect with a specific recruiter, a career fair is an excellent way to make a direct connection with an employer. Many career fairs take place each academic year - find the event that aligns best with your interests!
Employers visit campus to share opportunities with CLA students and build connections directly with potential candidates for internships and jobs. CLA regularly hosts employers for tabling hours just outside of CLA Career Services, 411 Bruininks Hall. Employers also participate in “Ask Me Anything” roundtable discussions, where students have the opportunity to ask questions in a 1-1 or small group setting.
