Graduate Minor in Anthropology

For more information, please contact our graduate program coordinator Megan Gauthier at
dgsanth@umn.edu.

It is possible for students in other graduate programs to earn a graduate minor in anthropology. The minor program is individually designed by each student in consultation with a faculty advisor from anthropology.

At the master’s level, you must complete a minimum of 6 credits of graduate-level coursework in anthropology.

At the PhD level, you must complete a minimum of 12 graduate-level credits in anthropology and at least one of those classes must be at the 8000-level.

For both levels, you must have a member of the anthropology faculty serve on your examination committee. Courses used toward the minor on the graduate degree plan must be approved by the Department of Anthropology's director of graduate studies.
