A Minnesota Tradition...

Each year, thousands of University of Minnesota students participate in bands, orchestras, choirs, and world music groups, performing the great masterworks in ensemble literature as well as newly commissioned pieces, gospel, and global music. From the elite auditioned ensembles to the inclusive non-auditioned campus ensembles, these opportunities are open to ALL university students from the hundreds of disciplines across the University.

You will experience singing, playing, and living in the spiritual and psychological realm of each piece under the direction of world-renowned conducting faculty and guest artists. The warmth and musicianship of your ensemble community will lead to inspired performances and lasting friendships that extend beyond the rehearsal and concert halls and into your life as a Minnesota alum.

Leagues of Minnesota alumni remember their experiences performing in Northrop Hall, Ted Mann Concert Hall, and around the State of Minnesota and abroad. The members of the ensembles - past and present - are ardent supporters of the Arts, of Music, and of higher education. When you join a University of Minnesota ensemble, you join a Minnesota tradition of excellence and become part of a musical family that extends beyond the rehearsal room and concert hall.
