Regardless of your intended major, schedule, or ability level, the School of Music has an ensemble for you. Ensembles are open to students throughout the University, not just students in the School of Music.
All new and returning students interested in participating in School of Music ensembles (with the exception of Campus Band, Campus Singers, and Campus Orchestra) are required to audition in order to enroll in an ensemble. If you are interested in participating in Campus Band, Gospel Choir, Campus Singers, or Campus Orchestra, no audition is required. You simply need to register and attend the first class meeting of these ensembles in order to participate in these non-auditioned ensembles.
Students currently enrolled in a Fall 2019 ensemble do not need to re-audition if they wish to remain in their current ensemble for Spring 2020.
Campus Band, Campus Orchestra, Gospel Choir and Campus Singers do not require an audition for enrollment. Gospel Choir students will sing privately for the instructor for placement in the choir and asked to take a survey to assess prior musical experiences. Once you register, you will receive instructions on these auditions from the instructor.
Ensemble auditions are held during the first week of classes in September for fall ensembles and in December for spring ensembles.

Practice rooms will be available for warm-ups 30–45 minutes prior to your scheduled audition time. For access to the practice rooms, see our staff at the monitor station, Ferguson Hall 44.
Fall ensemble assignments will be posted on the bulletin boards outside Room 10 of Ferguson Hall. Spring audition results will be communicated via email.
