Official Department Names

• Official University names & abbreviations: buildings, departments, programs, majors

  • Go to the University's directory and find the official name using the search bar

• Departments will be listed in the directory with their field of study followed by a comma and the words "Department of" (Pharmacology, Department of)

  • Certain programs may not have "department" in their title (Statistics, School of)

• Comma separating College from University (Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Minnesota)

Liberal Arts Engagement Hub

When you refer to the Liberal Arts Engagement Hub in printed or electronic communications, use “Liberal Arts Engagement Hub” or “Liberal Arts Engagement Hub in the College of Liberal Arts.” After its first use in a document, it can be referred to as “The Hub.” Do not use “CLA Liberal Arts Engagement Hub” or “CLA Engagement Hub.”
