MLK Advising Appointments
Please refer to our How-To Guides before making an appointment or attending drop-ins.
Advising Appointments
Advising appointments with your MLK academic advisor are available at various times between 9 AM and 3:30 PM.
These appointments are 30 minutes long and are required at least once a semester for your first 1–2 years in the program in order to register for classes, and strongly suggested thereafter. Full advising appointments are necessary to release holds, make changes to student records, plan for graduation, and address all other questions and concerns that cannot be answered in under 15 minutes.
- If you need assistance with academic warning or suspension, please review Academic Standing: Warning and Suspension before making an appointment with an advisor.
Drop-In Advising
Drop-in advising is reserved for quick questions and usually lasts 5 to 15 minutes. Typical drop-in topics include liberal-education requirements, second-language requirement, campus resources, major or minor program information, one-time-only withdrawals, personal concerns, and many other topics.
