Additionally, the department offers minors in French or Italian, and a certificate of advanced proficiency in French. Our programs in beginning and intermediate French and Italian language allow students to fulfill the foreign language requirement for the Bachelor of Arts degree in the College of Liberal Arts.
Many students combine a French or Italian studies major with another major. Common combinations include history, English, linguistics, political science, philosophy, art history, journalism, communication, business, design, global studies, geography, psychology, education, and other foreign language and cultural studies programs. Some students also combine a French or Italian studies major with a major in the fine arts or STEM disciplines.
