Graduate Minor in Germanic Studies

Minors in Germanic Studies at both the MA level and the PhD level are available for graduate students in other programs. The minor program must be approved by the Director of Graduate Studies of the Department of German, Nordic, Slavic & Dutch.

Requirements

MA minors are required to take a minimum of three GSD graduate courses (nine credits), one of which must be GSD 8001: Approaches to Textual Analysis (three credits).

PhD minors are required to take five GSD graduate courses (15 credits). Students who have not taken GSD 8001: Approaches to Textual Analysis at the M.A. level must take it as one of the five.

Once GSD 8001 has been completed, the minor program can be individually tailored to match the student's interests and areas of concentration.
