Students who are admitted to the University of Minnesota PSEO (Post Secondary Education Option) program are eligible to participate in music ensembles and coursework that is available to all undergraduate students on campus, including ensemble participation and coursework open to non-music majors.
U of M PSEO students who wish to take private lessons with a faculty member and enroll in undergraduate music major level coursework must formally apply and audition for entrance to the School of Music by following the application procedure outlined on the Apply page. Admission to PSEO music study is contingent upon admission to the U of M PSEO program. If admitted to both the School of Music and the University of Minnesota PSEO program, students are required to enroll and participate in a major ensemble along with their applied one-on-one study. Students who are interested in our academic courses, such as music theory, ear-training, or music history, may contact the School of Music for registration information once they are formally accepted to PSEO music study.
