My name is Clare Peterson (she/her) and I will be the peer advisor for this academic school year. I am a senior earning my B.S degree with a major in Sociology LCD and minors in social justice and cinema and media culture. I’m hoping to pursue a career in nonprofit work and hoping to use my cinema and media background in order to share the stories and work people do in the pursuit of social justice. As your peer advisor, I hope to not only be a resource in your academic endeavors but also someone you can come to for support. As a fellow student, I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I am originally from Evanston, a northern suburb of Chicago. Over the summer I was able to work with Lakeview Pantry. As one of Chicago’s largest and longest-operating food pantries, I was able to learn so much about my community and the work that goes into running a non-profit. I hope to take what I have learned and be able to apply it to my work as a peer advisor in order to support you.

Outside my academic work, I spend my time enjoying many of the events offered by all of our cultural student groups on campus! My hobbies include cooking, music, movies/TV shows, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to getting to know you as your peer Aaviser this year!
