My name is Emma Pederson and I will be the Peer Adviser for this academic school year. I am a junior earning my B.A. degree with a major in Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance and a minor in Psychology. I am hoping to pursue a career in federal law enforcement after I graduate and am always open to talking about policing issues and career pathways in law enforcement. As your peer adviser, I hope to be a useful resource to achieve your goals, both academically and personally. I am here to listen and provide support, so don’t be shy!

Outside of my academic work, I am involved in activism surrounding police brutality and misconduct in the City of Minneapolis. I sit on the executive board of the University of Minnesota Sociological Association (UMSA) and I attend meetings for the Mindfulness Club on campus. My hobbies include making collages, writing poetry and prose, and going to music shows. A fun fact about me is that I have six dogs (yes, I have pictures)!

Be sure to checkout our sociology Undergraduate Resources Page, which we update weekly.
