Percussion Auditions

All percussionists who wish to be considered for placement in the following ensembles need to audition:

• University Wind Ensemble (UWE)
• Symphonic Band (SB)
• University Band (UB)
• University Symphony Orchestra (USO)
• University Philharmonic Orchestra (UPO)

For Campus Bands and Campus Orchestras, simply register and attend the first class meeting to take the class. Contact us by email at this address with any questions or concerns. 

Audition Information

Spring 2026 percussion auditions will be held in-person in early December in Ferguson Hall. 

Audition Registration and Details

• Ensemble Audition Registration Form 

• Click on ensemble names below to access audition packets. 

• Password to open protected PDF files will be provided when you register for an ensemble audition.

• Permissions to enroll in auditioned ensembles will only be granted after completion of a successful audition and ensemble placement.

University Wind Ensemble / University Symphony Orchestra

• All percussionists placed in the UWE/USO "pool" will participate in University Wind Ensemble; select musicians will also be assigned parts in University Symphony Orchestra.

Symphonic Band / University Band

• Percussionists only interested in Symphonic Band (SB) and/or University Band (UB) should prepare the SB/UB packet and will not be eligible for placement in USO or UWE. 

University Philharmonic Orchestra

• Students auditioning for UPO will need to sign up for separate auditions to be eligible for USO or concert bands.
• UPO does not qualify as a major ensemble towards degree process for music majors. Consult with a School of Music advisor for details.
