Transfer Students
Psychology is an open major available to any student admitted to the University of Minnesota (UMN). While the program is accessible campus-wide, the majority of BA and BS psychology students are pursuing their degree through the College of Liberal Arts (CLA). CLA offers numerous majors and minors, including the Developmental Psychology BA and BS in the Institute of Child Development (which is separate from Psychology).
Follow these steps to get more information:
- Ask Admissions any questions about your admission to UMN.
- Visit and meet with the CLA Transfer Advising Team.
- Review major pages in-depth:
- Evaluate your completed or planned transfer courses. Review transfer courses equivalencies on Transferology.
- If any of your courses are a “miss” or “maybe” on Transferology, submit the syllabus for evaluation.
- Once you submit the course for review, the evaluation will automatically get routed to the appropriate department (Psych or otherwise) for evaluation within the Psychology curriculum. Courses take 4-5 weeks to evaluate.
