Capstone Requirements

The Capstone is your opportunity to demonstrate the accumulated skills and abilities you have gathered during your college years. Many students finish this requirement feeling it was one of the best learning experiences of their undergraduate careers.

For your Capstone, you must complete all of your required core courses and all but one elective course prior to taking SOC 4966W Capstone

Request a Permission Number

Contact your advisor at least two full semesters in advance in order to obtain a permission number.

Multiple majors and students outside of CLA

If you have two or more majors in the College of Liberal Arts, you only need one Capstone or proseminar sequence. If you choose to do your major project in another major, you must take one additional upper-division elective in lieu of 4966W or 4977V and 4978V. For students in another college at the University (or outside CLA), the college requires students to complete the Capstone or proseminar sequence.
