Faculty Considering New Advisees

The Psychology PhD program requires all students to identify a primary advisor who is core faculty in the area of specialization they are applying to. As you prepare to apply, use this list to confirm that the faculty member(s) you are most interested in working with are accepting new advisees for the Fall 2025 cycle.

In the application portal, you will select an area of specialization to apply to and identify the faculty member(s) in that area that you would like to work within an advising capacity. Only faculty accepting advisees for Fall 2025 will be listed. See the section of the Application Checklist titled “Psychology Form - all applications” for additional details.

Applicants are welcome to email the faculty members with whom they are most interested in working to learn more about their research and advising practices. We recommend that you start by familiarizing yourself with the faculty member’s profile, recent scholarship, and lab before reaching out with an email to introduce yourself.

The listings below are specific to Fall 2025 and reflect current faculty in the Department of Psychology. The list will be updated, as needed, if faculty join or leave the department.

This page is updated annually by May 1 to reflect faculty considering new advisees for the upcoming admissions cycle.
